Bjelin | Cured Ash – Skandinaviškos Grindys

In addition to oak floors, Bjelin also manufactures cured ash flooring. Unique to these floors are the calm and harmonious grades of planks, without the usual dark grain and characteristic color variations of ash wood. The ash floor is given a matte lacquered finish in a light, white or grey color.

Bjelin’s wide planks are manufactured with a patented technology to cure wood and make it stronger. It’s an innovative wooden floor with a genuine wooden feel that is several times stronger than other wooden floors and utilises renewable raw materials in an optimal way.

Bfl-S1

These wooden parquet boards are suitable for public spaces, where one of the most important requirements for the floor is flammability class Bfl-S1. Floors of Cured Wood are suitable for almost all rooms in homes or commercial areas that are exposed to normal wear (such as offices, waiting rooms or shops). Floors made from Cured Wood are not suitable for wet or damp rooms (eg. bathrooms or saunas).

Underfloor heating

Affordable wide planks

208 mm is wider than most on the market. Even the length is generous at just over 2.3 metres on the widest planks.

Easy installation with thin floors

Normally, wide planks are also thick. The technique of hardening wood allows the floors to be made wide but still remain very thin at just 11 mm. Therefore, you won’t have to alter your doors or make any other costly changes to your home.

Resistance

The all-natural parquet boards are extremely resistant to high heels or the chaos caused by kids or damage from pets. You will not have to worry about dents if an iron, a heavy vase, a tool, or a metal toy car happens to fall on the floor.

The wooden surface is pressed under high temperature on to a fibreboard that has been coated with a wood powder. The wooden surface is compressed and the wood powder penetrates the wooden surface from underneath. The result is a cured wood that is several times stronger and harder than normal wooden floors, whilst the appearance and feeling has been maintained. With Woodura you will be decorating with the most beautiful parts of the wood and the rest is used to make the floors last longer.

Cured wood is a genuine hardwood floor which will get scratches. It is important that you take good care of your floor and follow existing advice for installation, care and maintenance.

This helps to harden the surface and create an exclusive look of the parquet board. This technology triples the strength, resistance, and longevity of the board.

Product composition

Sustainable

The manufacturer Bjelin upholds his ecology standards throughout the entirety of the wood processing endeavour. Timber resources are utilised optimally, while at the same time creating exclusive real-wood designs. By using an extremely thin layer of wood instead of the traditional thicker one, each cubic meter of timber produces substantially more flooring.

Every log is used to its fullest – the system calculates the optimal way of dividing it up. All the wood deemed unsuitable for the upper layer of the board, together with the sawdust left after the manufacturing process, is used as filler for the second layer. Nothing gets discarded.

Ash grades

Select has a fine grain and a natural color tone, without any major color variations. A smaller number of whole and sound knots do occur, but to a lesser extent than in livelier grades.

Nature contains knots, sugar tracks and some sapwood. The floor has a natural color variation and lively grain, which gives it a classic look with a great wood feel. There is a balanced number of filled knots and cracks. This gives the planks greater depth and the wood character is evident.

Rustic gives a more striking and rustic impression. Varying color tone and grain give it a livelier feel. Filled cracks and larger knots, as well as contrasts and a wide range of color variations, give the floor charm and character.
